Incentives and rebates are available from Mass Save for energy efficient water heaters. If you are replacing a water heater, there are a few options available depending on your fuel source.

If you are replacing an electric storage tank water heater, a qualified Heat Pump Water Heater (HPWH) may be an option for you and the rebate on some models is $750.00. The HPWH moves heat from your home into the water tank. Most units are hybrid and can also function as a standard electric water heater if necessary. They are more efficient than a storage tank water heater, but there are other factors to consider before installation. The proper placement of the unit is necessary for it to function at an energy efficient level. A fair amount of space is needed around the unit and good air circulation is necessary. Incentives such as this don’t come along everyday. Call Rizzo Plumbing & Heating to speak with someone who can guide you through the process of whether or not this is a good choice for your home.

If you are replacing a gas storage tank water heater, an on demand tankless model could be your ticket to an $800.00 rebate. The unit hangs on a wall and heats the water as it is called for. No more paying to heat a storage tank full of water while you are sitting at work. These are perfect for new construction and even work well as a replacement to your existing water heater. Call Rizzo Plumbing & Heating if you want to take advantage of this offer. We will send someone out to look at your project and give you advice.

The Mass Save incentives are a bonus when you are energy efficient. Of course they have limits. We work with them frequently, so we can help you through the process. If you are a customer of a participating Gas Networks Utilities, you may be eligible for these incentives. Participating utilities include National Grid, Columbia Gas, Eversource and more.
